Post-Natal Health And Diet Tips

Many new mothers are undoubtedly always eager to do away with their maternity dresses and ready to get back into their sexy fitting dresses and jeans.

Who says you must “blow-up” after giving birth? You can get your sexy body back after child birth. But, the big question on every new mother’s mind is, what do I do to get back to my shape and figure after delivery?  Celebrities often find answer(s) to this posing question, Toyin Lawani, Annie Idibia, Damilola Adegbite have all shown how easy new mothers can get their sexy figure back.

According to a gym instructor, women stop developing muscles at the age 20. Once a woman is above the aforementioned age, she starts developing fat, in essence a woman’s body needs regular exercise to help her build back her muscles. Women with lesser stomach fat get back their shape and figure with ease after birth.

Below, are some tips nursing mothers in Nigeria share on how they handled their postnatal diet and health:

Ø To get adequate breast milk, you might want to consider taking soya milk, Maringa leaf, watery pap, and ‘kunu’.
Ø For normal delivery, bath with hot water, morning and evening. Get oil massage after every bath.
Ø Do not consider storing breast milk. As you produce, give out to your baby.
Ø For normal delivery, you can engage in any form of aerobics after three months after delivery.
Ø Avoid fatty food. Take food rich in protein such as soya milk, pear, beans, eggs etc. It helps to regain lost energy.
Ø Breastfeed as often as possible as it hastens the healing in your womb.
Ø Avoid the temptation of keeping junk food in the house.
Ø Consider eating smaller portions of food. Never you skip meal or limit the amount of fruit and vegetable in your diet as you will end up missing all the necessary nutrients.
Ø Never forget to add fibre to your list of diet as it provides important nutrient and helps you stay full for a longer time.
Consider drinking plenty of water to avoid dehydration.

Basically, it takes a healthy diet, a commitment to physical activity and plenty of patience to keep fit.
